The design allows operation of all the main controls with just one hand. The unit consists of hard keys laser-engraved and backlit in white for easy viewing with a centrally mounted jog wheel/navigation key set and a LCD screen at the top providing all the information required plus feedback when available.
There are four dedicated mode buttons to help keep control straightforward:
- MEDIA takes you to the files on your computer (optional PCX9200 required)
- MORE can take you a specific function e.g. teletext
- FAV. brings up your preferred list of TV channels and radio stations with icons displayed on the screen
- HOME shows ‘action-based’ options like ‘watch-TV’, ‘watch a DVD’ or ‘listed to PC’.
The programmability of the unit allows it to be set up for your own system, a unique programme to allow your equipment to be operated in a way you find straightforward. The wizard driven editor performs the main installation but there are advanced options if you want to take things one step further. Often used components and codes can be stored in MyDatabase within the softeware and you have a complete database of channel icons available to make channel selection simple.
